LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Over a year ago, before she was a mainstay in the daily media, Paris Hilton was chosen as the it girl for a video for John Oates' (of Hall and Oates) single, aptly titled 'It Girl.' Jed Leiber picked Hilton and recognizing that she was perfect for the part, gave her the starring role in the video. Jed serves as co-writer and co-producer on this, John's current solo album entitled 'Phunk Shui'.
Last October, while casting the 'It Girl' video role, Jed approached Paris Hilton, who had been a regular at the 'Whiskey Bar,' which is located in the Sunset Marquis Hotel where Jed's studio lives and where most of the video was shot. 'While I can't say that I had the foresight to see that Paris was going to have the attention that she has today, I did feel that she was soon to be the girl of the moment, the 'It Girl' if you will. After meeting Paris, I stumbled on some beautiful pictures of her in a magazine, which showed how photogenic and comfortable she was in front of the camera. She fit the role like a glove and we couldn't have found anyone more perfect ... she was just great. Given the current media craze, John and I were both a little cautious about this video being perceived as jumping on the Paris bandwagon, but we decided that her performance and the song really spoke for itself...'
